Live Audio Transcript is a Chrome extension for realtime transcription and captions from audio playing in the active browser tab.

Data Processed

The extension processes the following data:

• OpenAI API key supplied by the user.
• Audio from the active Chrome tab while transcription is running.
• Extension settings such as source language, target language, and pause timing.

How Data Is Used

The user's OpenAI API key is used to create realtime transcription sessions with OpenAI. Active-tab audio is sent to OpenAI only while the user has started transcription. The generated text is displayed in the browser page as captions or translated captions.

Storage

The OpenAI API key and extension settings are stored locally in Chrome extension storage on the user's browser.

Third Parties

Live Audio Transcript sends active-tab audio to OpenAI for realtime processing. Users must provide their own OpenAI API key and should review OpenAI's applicable terms and privacy documentation.

Data Sale

Live Audio Transcript does not sell user data.

User Control

Users can stop transcription at any time with the Stop button. Users can remove their stored API key by clearing the extension's site and extension data or uninstalling the extension.
